FFP Food Security Programming

Office of Food for Peace (FFP) – Sources of Funding

• Farm Bill Appropriations: The Farm Bill is an omnibus, multi-year piece of authorizing legislation that governs an array of agricultural and food programs, including international food aid programs, i.e., Title II – emergency and development.

• International Disaster Assistance (IDA) Funds: Used to support humanitarian assistance operations in response to international crises. Used by both FFP and OFDA.

• Community Development Funds (CDF, i.e., Development Assistance (DA)):

FFP receives Community Development Funds (CDF) through FTF to complement Title II resources in its development food assistance programs.

Drawn from DA funds allocated to the Bureau for Food Security. Often used to offset monetization. $80 million in FY 2014.

• Given FFP’s various emergency and development awards and complex funding streams, FFP’s support needs include administration, training, reporting, data management, knowledge management, and acquisitions and assistance support.
