About this file
This is a technical specification document for a water distribution system infrastructure project at a compound facility. The document provides detailed inventory and planning information for a multi-vault water line system with specifications for piping materials, sizes, valve placements, and line lengths.
The system comprises five primary vaults (A through E) and seven secondary vaults distributed throughout the compound. Vault A (Northeast Corner of Woodshed) serves as the main distribution point, receiving a 1¼" PVC line and distributing water to an office building (ARS-25) and downstream vaults. The water distribution network includes multiple line sizes: 1" PVC, 1¼" PVC, 2" PVC, and 2" poly lines, with a total existing line length of 937 feet inside the compound. The document specifies current valve inventory within each vault and identifies additional valves needed for vaults 1 through 7, including gate valves in sizes 1", 1¼", and ¾". Two configuration options are presented: one maintaining current mixed-size piping and another standardizing to 1" water lines for vaults A-E. The 1" standardized option requires nine 1" gate valves total for the five primary vaults. Line segments include connections from Vault A to ARS-25 (167 feet), Vault B to Vault C and East Quonset Hydrant (45-123 feet), and Vault B to south compound (112 feet), with specific transitions between pipe materials noted at various points throughout the system.

Line comes in Vault A at 1 1/4" pvc, turns back West to go to office building (ARS-25) all pvc, exits vault South at 1 1/4" pvc then transitions somewhere after to 2" poly line probably close to Vault A. Tees off in front of machine shop (underground- no vault associated) most likely pvc line to carpenter shop. Line continues South poly line into Hole 1
(North) of the three hole vault. From there line goes to 1 1/4" pvc into Vault D (south compound), then line going back to the Quonset hydrant is 1" pvc. Line exiting South of Vault D (south compound) transitions to 2" poly line through the rest of the lab.
Existing line length (ft) inside the compound
What is currently inside each Vault
Valves needed for vaults 1 through 7
Valves needed if we go with 1" water line for Vaults A-E (inside the compound)
