II. Technical Part 1 General:
Existing Conditions:
1. Utility Building
The building is a residential-style single-story building that is approximately 66 ft. x 24 ft. It is not known when the existing siding was replaced, however its age is estimated to be twenty-five (25) years or older. The existing siding and rigid foam insulation underneath the siding were installed over the original clapboards of the building. Conducted surveys have identified the paint on the original entry door casings, window casings/sashes, clapboard siding and associated trim to be contaminated with lead. The Contractor shall remove the clapboard siding, entry doors, windows, and associated trim and properly dispose of all materials in accordance with MA state law. The East side entry door will be removed, framed, sealed, and sided over (See Informational Photo #2). There are electrical attachments that will need to be removed and reinstalled. This will be the responsibility of the Contractor. (See Informational Photo #2 and #4) The Contractor should anticipate that a one (1) week period without power and utilities is acceptable for each building. The
Government is willing to discuss if longer periods are required. All discussions should be with the Technical Point of Contact on when utilities will be disconnected and expected to be reconnected.
2. Maintenance Garage
The maintenance garage is approximately 51 ft x 25 ft. The approximate heights of the maintenance garage are 18 ft. from peak to grade in front, 20 ft. in the rear, and 11.5 ft. on the sides from soffit to grade. The Government does not have As-Built drawings for this building. It is not known when the existing siding was replaced, however its age is estimated to be twenty-five (25) years or older. The conducted surveys have identified lead paint to exist on the upper trim of the building. Unlike the Utility Building no clapboard siding exists under the current siding. The current condition of the siding and windows is in poor condition and needs replacing. A damaged section of framing located in between the two overhead bay doors needs replacing (See Informational Photo # 9).
