About this file

This document is an Addendum to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the DNR - Snakeden Hollow State Fish and Wildlife Area Farm Lease #2012 in Knox County, Illinois. The addendum is being issued to add the winter wheat requirements back into the document, which were inadvertently removed when the soybean language was added. The contract includes the leasing of approximately 212.8 acres in 2018, 208.2 acres in 2019, and 212.8 acres in 2020 of land at Snakeden Hollow State Fish and Wildlife Area for agricultural purposes. The lease requires the lessee to plant winter wheat over soybeans, leave 5% of each crop field standing, mow 25 acres annually, plant sunflowers and milo in specified locations, and adhere to various other cropping and management requirements. Non-adherence to the cropping plan may result in termination of the lease.

The lease requires the lessee to provide all seed, herbicides, fertilizers, and equipment for the farming operations. IDNR will not provide any materials. Certain fields must be left standing without harvesting and the lessee will be compensated at the standard per acre rate for those acres. There are no set-asides, incumbents, or other special pricing terms mentioned. The lease term is from 2018 to 2020 with no renewal options specified.
