About this file
This document is an addendum to a 2012 farm lease contract for the Snakeden Hollow State Fish and Wildlife Area in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is issuing this addendum to modify the lease requirements regarding the planting of soybeans. The contract includes approximately 212.8 acres in 2018 and 2020, and 208.2 acres in 2019, to be leased for agricultural purposes in Knox County, Illinois. The addendum requires the lessee to leave 5% of each crop standing annually, prohibits the use of certain pesticides on soybean crops, and outlines mowing requirements and timing. The contract term is from 2018 to 2020 with no renewal options mentioned.
The addendum also includes details on the required actions for the lessee, such as planting sunflowers and milo in specified locations and applying appropriate herbicides and fertilizers. The lessee will be allowed to deduct $122.50 per hour for time spent mowing the required 25 acres annually. The lease requires the lessee to comply with the cropping plan, and failure to do so may result in termination of the lease.
