About this file
This document is a specification for the calibration of two ASTM E274 locked-wheel skid trailers owned by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The skid trailers were manufactured in 2020 by International Cybernetics and are model number SFT 5042, attached to 2020 F350 trucks with 6.7L turbo diesel engines. The calibration work required includes arrival measurements at 40 mph, force calibration of the transducers, calibration of the water delivery system, speed and distance calibration, and a review of the overall system operation. IDOT is also requesting that any non-functional components of the skid trailers be replaced, including the water delivery system, compressed air system, braking system, electronic data collection system, and trailer suspension. All repair work must be approved by IDOT's Engineer of Pavement Technology and completed by ISO 17025 certified technicians.
The document does not provide details on pricing, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or other commercial terms. It focuses solely on the technical specifications and requirements for the calibration and repair of the IDOT's skid trailers.
