About this file
This is a detailed specification document for single axle dump trucks issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) as part of a bulk buy procurement. MoDOT anticipates purchasing 45 to 65 dump trucks total under this Request for Proposal, with all vehicles to be delivered no later than December 31, 2027. The specification covers comprehensive requirements for cab and chassis components, body builder installations, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, safety features, and optional equipment including snowplow attachments and material spreaders. The vehicles must meet stringent performance standards including a minimum 300 horsepower turbocharged diesel engine with 860 pound-feet of torque, an Allison 3000 automatic transmission, and dual air brake systems. Bidders must submit proposals electronically through MissouriBUYS powered by MOVERS or by hard copy mail, with notification required five calendar days prior to the solicitation closing date if submitting physical documentation. The RFP solicitation inquiries should be directed to buyer of record Ashten Lorts at ashten.lorts@modot.mo.gov.
The contract period commences upon full execution of the resulting agreement and extends through one year, with pricing to be submitted on a per-unit basis for the base configuration and each optional equipment package. All pricing must be inclusive of all materials, labor, and components necessary for full compliance with the specifications. Bidders must provide extensive supporting documentation including representative chassis line sheets, corrosion mitigation component listings, engineering drawings detailing projected weights and overall dimensions, and weight calculations for options exceeding 200 pounds. The specification mandates five-year/150,000-mile cab and chassis warranty coverage and seven-year/150,000-mile engine and aftertreatment warranty coverage, both beginning at the in-service date recorded by MoDOT. MoDOT reserves the right to perform pre-delivery and post-delivery inspections at the final assembly point, with contractors responsible for correcting all discrepancies at their own expense before vehicles are accepted. All vehicles must be pressure washed with hot water and detergent prior to delivery and maintained at minimum fuel and DEF levels throughout delivery and transfer of ownership.
