A. General: The project includes executing dredging, placement, and grading of existing sediment oƯshore of Ramps 1, 2, 3, and 4 prior to commencement of existing concrete ramp demolition, as outlined in the Project Plans. The intent of the initial grading phase of work is to replace sandy sediments which have been washed away from the toe of existing ramps. Approximate limits of excavation for material are provided in the project plans, which may require adjustment during construction.

B. Material Characterization: The material to be removed from within the identified locations is comprised of shoaled material which has accumulated since initial site grading. Material within these locations is expected to include but not be limited to sand, silty sand, silt, clayey silt, and debris. Grading of existing consolidated sediments, including rock, is not permitted or required.

Due to the proximity of the dredge areas to the boat ramp and docks, debris is likely to be encountered. Debris removed from the dredged area shall be removed from the water and disposed of appropriately. Disposal shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and disposal shall occur at an approved facility.

C. EXCAVATION & GRADING – The limits of excavation for this project are described in the project plans. The final slope of graded seafloor shall be as-indicated in the project plans.

An approximate volume of 330 cy of earthen fill is anticipated to achieve the required initial grading template. The total volume includes 80 cy of cut and reposition and 250 cy of imported fill. All material cut and placement activities shall be completed with the use of a mechanical dredge or excavator.

1. Borrow Cut: The oƯshore slope of the borrow cut shall be no steeper than one-foot vertical for every four-feet horizontal (1V:4H). Approximately 80 cy of material is available for excavation and re-use compared to the July 2025 hydrographic survey.

2. Imported Fill: Approximately 250 cy of earthen fill material is estimated to be required to be imported from and approved oƯsite source to achieve the required initial fill template.
