About this file

This document is a Section E Supplemental Specifications file for road and street construction, prepared by Pinellas County, Florida, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standard specifications. The project involves installing guardrail along Keystone Road from East Lake Road to the Hillsborough County Line, with the primary aim of enhancing pedestrian and bicycle safety. The specifications outline special provisions for survey and layout, including staking out the right of way every 100 feet and protecting property corners, as well as requirements for clearing and grubbing within the county right-of-way.

The document details two specific pay items: Water for Dust Control (Pay Item No. 102-5000), which covers the furnishing and application of water to control dust during construction, and Irrigation (Sprinkler) Repair or Replace (Pay Item No. 800-1615), which requires the contractor to repair or replace existing irrigation systems to their pre-construction condition or better. The water for dust control will be paid at a contract unit price per thousand gallons, while irrigation repairs will be compensated at a contract unit price per linear foot. The specifications emphasize the contractor's responsibilities, including notifying property owners about item removal, verifying irrigation system functionality, and maintaining the construction site according to the engineer's directions.
