About this file
This Scope of Work document is issued by the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) for a Documented Quote solicitation (DQ1 2017001501) dated May 19, 2017, for roof repairs at the Buena Vista Correctional Facility (BVCF). The project encompasses repairs to existing Derbigum and multiple-ply built-up roofs on three buildings: the Vocational, Tinsley, and Tanksley Buildings. Work includes field verification, temporary weather protection, repairs to roof membranes and flashing, replacement of wet or damaged insulation at roof drains, and coating of the Derbigum roof membrane on the Vocational Building. The base bid scope covers the Vocational Building and requires contractors to repair membrane defects (cuts, punctures, blisters, splits, holes), address fastener issues, repair delaminated laps, correct flashing defects, repair metal details, clean drainage systems, and power wash and coat the entire roof with approved coating products. Two add alternates are available for the Tinsley and Tanksley Buildings with similar repair requirements, excluding full roof coating. All work must be staged to minimize disruption to the occupied detention facility below.
The document does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent contractor information, funding sources, or contract award and performance dates. Acceptable roof coating manufacturers are limited to Henry 555 Premium Aluminum Roof Coating or equal products. Contractors must provide all labor and materials and maintain temporary weather protection during construction. The scope emphasizes compliance with manufacturer specifications for waterproof termination of repaired flashings and adherence to the detailed repair standards outlined for membrane, flashing, metal details, and drainage systems.
