About this file
This is a demolition plan document prepared by the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) South Coast Region for the removal of structures at Kodiak Airport. The project scope includes the full demolition of two one-story wood frame buildings and two 500-gallon aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) located on Lots 3, 4A, and 5A at Kodiak Airport. The contractor must remove all above-ground portions of existing structures while leaving all below-ground foundations and slab surfaces in place; foundation walls and curbs above ground level shall be cut to ground surface level. The contractor is responsible for all utility locates in accordance with Alaska Dig Line and applicable Alaska Administrative Code, maintaining perimeter fencing at Lots 3 and 4A, and removing 48 linear feet of interior fencing as noted on the plans. All demolition materials must be removed from the project site and disposed of unless otherwise noted, with the owner retaining first right to salvage marked items. The contractor must provide the owner seventy-two hours' notice prior to site mobilization to allow for salvage activities.
The demolition plan specifies that all floor drains and wastewater piping at floor slabs shall be plugged and capped, and any AST piping between tanks and building footprints must be removed and capped. Ground-disturbing activity must be limited to only what is necessary for demolition work, with all non-scheduled features protected in place. The corresponding invitation for quotes (Contract No. SPC-25263009A) indicates that bids were to be received until 4:00 p.m. on February 24, 2026, at the office of the Contracts Officer in Juneau, Alaska, with submissions also accepted via email. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. Questions regarding the project should be directed to Jenny Huntley, Chief of Contracts, at (907) 465-4420.
