About this file
This document is a quick start guide for foreign registrations in the System for Award Management (SAM). The guide outlines a 4-step process for new registrations: (1) Request a Unique Entity ID (UEI), (2) Request an NCAGE code, (3) Register in SAM, and (4) Renew SAM registration annually. Key requirements include that vendors and contractors receiving awards over $30,000 must be registered in SAM, while those receiving awards between $10,000-$30,000 must have a Unique Entity ID. Registration is free and takes 5-10 days to complete, and must be renewed yearly before the expiration date.
The guide provides detailed instructions for each registration step, emphasizing the importance of using consistent information across UEI and NCAGE code applications. Registration requires gathering specific information including banking details, average annual sales, total staff count, and point of contact information. Users must use Internet Explorer for registration, and the process involves creating a SAM account, validating core data, and potentially updating optional sections like assertions and representations. Support is available through the Federal Service Desk website for questions or assistance with the registration process.
