About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics Sheet for the procurement of two Quincy QGD-30 rotary screw air compressors for an aircraft structural maintenance shop. The procurement requires two 30-horsepower, continuous-duty tank-mounted units powered by 230/460V 3-Phase industrial power, with dimensions not exceeding 75" L x 40" W x 70" H. Each compressor must deliver a minimum of 125 CFM at 125 PSIG and be rated for 100% continuous duty operation in a non-climate-controlled environment without overheating.

Essential technical specifications include a microprocessor-based control system (Quincy Airlogic® or equivalent) for monitoring operating parameters and managing load/unload cycles; an integrated air-aftercooler to remove excess moisture and protect air tools; operation at approximately 68 dBA to reduce shop noise levels; and a minimum 5-year warranty covering major components including the airend, motor, and separator tank with readily available technical support and parts. Professional installation and operational verification are required upon delivery. The two compressors will replace the current failing system, which consists of one inoperable unit and one that consistently overheats, and are intended to support pneumatic operations including sandblasting, painting, sanding, and operation of various pneumatic hand tools while eliminating work stoppages and improving maintenance efficiency.

Salient Characteristics Sheet

Quincy QGD-30 Air Compressor

Physical Characteristics

• Quantity: Two (2) rotary screw air compressors

• Model: Quincy QGD-30 or equivalent

• Power Supply: 230/460V 3-Phase industrial power

• Configuration: Tank-mounted to ensure a ready supply of compressed air and reduce cycle frequency.

• Footprint: Approximate dimensions should not exceed 75" L x 40" W x 70" H to fit within the existing equipment space.

Essential Characteristics

• Performance: Must be a 30-horsepower, continuous-duty rotary screw air compressor.

• Air Delivery: Capable of delivering a minimum of 125 CFM at 125 PSIG to power multiple high-demand pneumatic tools simultaneously.

• Duty Cycle: Must be rated for 100% continuous duty to operate reliably without overheating in a high-demand, non-climate-controlled environment.

• Control System: Equipped with a microprocessor-based controller (Quincy Airlogic® or equivalent) for monitoring operating parameters, managing load/unload cycles, and providing service alerts.

• Air Quality: Must include an integrated air-aftercooler to cool the compressed air and remove excess moisture, protecting air tools and ensuring high-quality finishes in applications like painting.

• Low Noise Level: Must operate at a low dBA rating (approximately 68 dBA) to reduce noise levels within the maintenance shop.

• Support & Warranty: Must include a minimum 5-year warranty covering major components, including the airend, motor, and separator tank, with readily available technical support and parts.

• Installation: Professional installation and operational verification are required to ensure the system is fully functional upon delivery.

Functions to be Performed The two Quincy QGD-30 air compressors will provide a reliable and continuous source of high-pressure, high-volume compressed air, which is critical for all pneumatic operations within the aircraft structural maintenance shop. They will replace our current, failing system, which consists of one inoperable unit and one that consistently overheats, causing severe operational delays. This new system is expected to eliminate work stoppages and significantly improve the efficiency of critical maintenance tasks such as sandblasting, painting, sanding, and operating various pneumatic hand tools. The continuous-duty rating and robust cooling will ensure the compressors can meet our high operational tempo without failure. This directly supports our mission by increasing productivity, reducing aircraft downtime, and ensuring maintenance schedules are met consistently and safely.
