About this file
The document contains Salient Characteristics for a commercial cantilever hip roof style shade structure replacement project. The specifications detail precise requirements for structural steel components, including cold-formed structural quality steel tubing and pipes conforming to ASTM A-500, Grade B and ASTM-A36 standards. Key structural elements include 6" x 6" x 1/3" columns, 4" x 6" x 3/16" beams, 2-7/8" upper structure hoops, and a 3" center hip ridge pipe, with connections using 10" gussets, 5/8" bolts, nuts, lock washers, and flat washers. The structure must be powder coated or industrially coated for corrosion resistance, comply with UL 1332 requirements, and have all field connections bolted rather than welded. The accompanying technical drawing provides a detailed cross-section of the column footing, showing a 5'-0" tall embedded column with reinforced concrete, WWF 6x6 W2.1xW2.1 reinforcement, and a 4"x8"x16" prefabricated concrete block base with 3" clear cover on all sides.
