About this file
This document is a Project Charter for the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), focusing on a Request for Information (RFI) for credentialing solutions with no-cost demonstrations for driver's license and identification card print technologies. The project aims to explore innovative technological advancements in credential printing, with a primary objective of soliciting information about potential solutions that can enhance operational efficiency, improve service quality, and maintain advanced security features. The project has an estimated milestone completion date of August 1, 2025, and seeks to modernize the DMV's credential issuance processes through technology exploration.
The project charter highlights several key strategic objectives, including streamlining workflow, supporting data-driven decision-making, and delivering personalized customer interactions. While no specific cost estimates are provided due to the no-cost demo nature of the RFI, the DMV is focusing on solutions that can integrate seamlessly with existing systems, scale effectively, and maintain continuous operation. The project recognizes potential risks such as scope creep, technological challenges, and resistance to change, and has developed mitigation strategies for each. Internal stakeholders include the DMV staff, while external stakeholders encompass Nevada residents and the State of Nevada, with Breece Harrison serving as the Project Manager.
