Applicable regulations governing procurement

All applicable Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) documentation can be found at: www.leg.state.nv.us/law1.cfm.

Vendors are advised to review Nevada’s ethical standards requirements, including but not limited to NRS 281A, NRS 333.800, and NAC 333.155.

This solicitation is a request for information (RFI) only. It is not a solicitation for bids or proposals. No contract award will result from this RFI. Aggregate information from this RFI will be analyzed and may be used as budget justification or to develop a subsequent solicitation.

All information received in response to this solicitation is considered confidential business information by the Administrator of the Nevada State Purchasing Division of the Department of Administration. This solicitation will not lead to evaluation or award pursuant to NRS 333.335(7), so responses remain confidential.

Project overview

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (NV DMV) would like to solicit information with no-cost demonstrations of enhanced security features, enhanced credentialing with and without the radio frequency identification (RFID), for driver’s license and identification cards for the State of Nevada customers. We recognize that technology is the driving force behind innovation and growth in our industry. By staying at the forefront of technological developments we can better serve our customers and enhance our operational efficiency.

Requesting Agency Background

The Research and Project Management (RPM) Division functions as the modernization arm of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles and provides critical project management services to the divisions of the department. The division enables the department to efficiently utilize available resources to improve department processes and support improved customer service. NV DMV wants to ensure top-tier security stewardship by deploying measures that systematically identify, thwart, and mitigate complex threats and vulnerabilities, thereby protecting our most confidential data.

Scope of work

Implementing technology strategies is crucial for NV DMV’s modernization transformation and we are looking to thrive in a digital world. As the NV DMV continues to evolve, prospective vendors must stay forward thinking to maintain their competitive edge while navigating potential challenges associated with the adoption of advanced enhancements.
