About this file

This is a Question and Answer document for UW Medicine's RFQQ 4891 for Endomechanical, Trocar and Suture (ETS) products. Bidder questions were due January 10, 2025 by 12:00 PM Pacific Time, with UW Medicine's responses due January 13, 2025 by 12:00 PM Pacific Time. The document contains three questions and responses from potential bidders covering technical specifications, general information, and proposal preparation instructions.

Key clarifications provided include: UW Medicine will only accept pricing at the "Eaches" level as the standard unit of measure, rejecting a suggestion to include strand-level pricing for sutures; no bidder presentations will be permitted as part of the RFQQ process; and there is no Vizient Master cross reference being used for the analysis, with each bidder instead being required to provide their own updated cross references as part of their bid package.

UW Medicine

RFQQ 4891 ENDOMECHANICAL, TROCAR AND SUTURE (ETS)

Bidder's questions due Friday, January 10, 2025 by 12:00 PM Pacific Time UWM provide answers to Bidder's questions due Monday, January 13, 2025 by 12:00 PM Pacific Time Instructions: Provide the section # in column B (Section). Type in your Question within column C. Submit this template as an Excel document.

No. SECTION QUESTION UWM Response

1 Section 4. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Suture Usage: We’ve noticed that UWM current suture usage is recorded in eaches. Since multipack codes contain varying numbers of strands per each, it would be more accurate to break down the pricing at the strand level for a clearer understanding of pricing and value.

Would UWM be comfortable with Bidder including three columns in the suture cross and bid:

Box Price, Each Price, and Strand Price?

The unit of measure (UOM) of Eaches is the accepted standard across the industry and country. Accordingly, UW Medicine’s standard is the Eaches level. If a column is added for Strand pricing, it will not be used in the review.

Section 2. GENERAL INFORMATION FOR

BIDDERS

Will there be an opportunity to present our bid proposals to the bid committee and the executive committee?

No. Per Section 5, bids submissions will be reviewed by the Evaluation Committee. Bidder presentations are not part of this RFQQ.

Section 3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING

PROPOSALS

Regarding cross-referencing: How will UWM handle situations where a company defers on their cross-reference. Particularly in terms of Exact Cross vs Close Cross? Would UWM able to share the Vizient Master cross reference that UWM will be using to run the analysis?

There is not a Vizient Master cross reference. Each Bidder has been asked to provide updated cross references in the bid process. UW Medicine looks forward to seeing Bidder's cross reference and bid package.
