SECTION B – STATEMENT OF WORK

1 BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

1.1 Following the successful completion of the CMR ABA/ADA driveway upgrade works, it has been identified that the garage driveway and adjacent paved areas at the Chief of Mission Residence (CMR) require repair and reinstatement. The recently completed accessibility upgrades involved construction activities, heavy vehicle movements, and interface works that have further exposed and exacerbated pre-existing deterioration of the asphalt pavement within the garage driveway area

1.2 The existing garage driveway pavement (approx. 450 m2 ANNEX 2) exhibits significant distress, including surface cracking, potholes, localized pavement breakup, uneven levels, and general surface degradation. These conditions present operational and safety risks, including potential vehicle damage, reduced surface performance, and compromised site presentation. The current condition of the pavement is no longer suitable for safe and reliable vehicular access.

1.3 The purpose of this Scope of Work is to undertake the removal of the damaged asphalt pavement and the construction of a new asphalt driveway surface within the CMR garage driveway area. The works will restore the driveway to a safe, durable, and serviceable condition, ensure proper surface levels and finishes following the completed ABA/ADA upgrades, and return the site to a standard consistent with Embassy operational, safety, and asset management requirements.

The Contractor shall coordinate with the Contracting Officer for work phasing and job sequencing with work commencing and completion dates. The Contractor shall submit a phasing plan with construction schedule for review and approval prior to commencement of work at the site. The Contractor is required to complete the entire work no later than four months from notice to proceed.
