About this file
This is Addendum #1 to Request for Quotation WRS260436 issued by the City of Ocala's Water Resources Department for a monument sign at Water Treatment Plant #1 located in Marion County, Florida. The addendum, dated March 12, 2026, provides clarifications and corrections to the original solicitation for the design and installation of a permanent masonry and stone-facing monument sign measuring 4-6 feet tall and 6-8 feet long. The sign must incorporate the City of Ocala logo, plant address, and required text with illumination from an existing ground-installed flood light. The project must comply with Ocala Code Section 110-157 specifications, including an 8-foot maximum height, 25-foot side setbacks, and 32 square feet maximum sign area, with completion required within 90 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Bidders must have a minimum of ten years of documented experience designing and installing monument signs and provide three completed projects of similar scope. The mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on March 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM EST at the Water Treatment Plant site, with attendance required for bid eligibility. Bids were due by March 26, 2026, and award will be made on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
The addendum clarifies that a permit is required for the project with an estimated cost of $260 based on the 32 square feet sign area and maximum budgeted project amount of $15,000; the permit fee must be included in the bid amount. Additionally, the vendor is required to contact 811 prior to any digging activities and may coordinate property access with project manager Jennifer Kampwerth, whose contact information will be provided upon award. The project budget is established at $10,000 to $15,000 installed on a turnkey basis, with all labor, materials, and installation provided by the contractor. Required insurance includes Commercial General Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate, Commercial Automotive Liability of $1,000,000 combined limit, and Workers' Compensation insurance per Florida statutory requirements. The sign includes a one-year warranty on parts and labor, with invoice submission occurring following project manager inspection and approval of the installed sign.
