About this file
The document is a draft transit guide for SunTran, the public transit system of the City of Ocala, Florida, effective January 2025. The comprehensive guide provides detailed information for riders, including route maps and schedules for seven different bus routes: Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Red, Yellow A, Yellow B, and Silver Route (including an Express variant). The guide covers essential transit information such as how to ride, fare structures, definitions of rider categories, bus rules, and transfer policies. It includes specific route details with outbound and inbound schedules for each route, stopping at various locations like the Downtown Transfer Station, Silver Springs Walmart, College of Central Florida, Mary Sue Rich Community Center, and other key city locations.
The transit guide offers a tiered fare structure with one-way trip prices ranging from free (for children five and younger) to $1.50 for regular fare, with discounted rates for youth/students ($1.10), seniors/disabled/Medicare holders ($0.75), and veterans ($0.75). Thirty-day passes are available at different price points, with locations for purchase including the City of Ocala Citizen Service Center, Mary Sue Rich Community Center, and College of Central Florida. The guide also notes that SunTran operates Monday through Saturday, with no service on Sundays and specific holidays, and service typically ends at 10:00 PM. The document is marked as a draft and appears to be part of a request for quotation (RFQ# GRM/250306) for printing 20,000 copies of the transit guide.

City of Ocala, Florida Effective January 2025
Transit Guide
DRAFT
Welcome to SunTran
WELCOME ABOARD!
Riding a SunTran bus is easy. This SunTran Transit Guide provides you all the information you need to get started.
HERE’S HOW TO RIDE:
Once you have your trip planned, head to your nearest bus stop location. If you have any questions or problems locating the closest bus stop, you can download our app MyStop (Scan the QR code printed on this guide or on the bus stop sign) to your mobile device for bus locations, times, and stops or contact the SunTran office at 352-401-6999. Arrive about five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive, and please stand or sit in a safe location. If you are near an intersection, the bus always loads past an intersection.
Do not attempt to board the bus while it is stopped at an intersection.
Have your fare ready, step on, pay your fare, and relax in the temperature-controlled comfort of a SunTran bus. Feel free to check with your bus operator when you get on if you are unsure about your route or any connections. When your stop is approaching, press the signal strip to let the operator know that this is where you want to get off. After deboarding, please allow the bus to pull away before crossing the street. Always use the pedestrian crossings and follow all traffic safety rules. Do not attempt to cross the pedestrian crosswalk in front of the bus. Now, sit back and enjoy the ride.
Our goal is to provide you with friendly and efficient service.
Thank you for riding with SunTran!
