About this file
This document is a Response to Clarifying Questions for Request for Quotes (RFQ) #2025-39 for Magazine Printing, issued by Clackamas County's Procurement & Contracting Services on April 15, 2025. The clarifying questions address specific details about the upcoming Spring 2025 magazine printing run, including paper specifications, page count, and mailing timeline. The document confirms that the contract will cover the Spring 2025 run, with artwork scheduled to be ready on June 11th and a preferred mail date of June 25th. The printer inquired about previous printing experiences, and the county noted they have only previously printed a maximum of 32 pages.
The clarifying questions reveal technical considerations around paper manufacturing, postal weight restrictions, and page count limitations. The document does not introduce new pricing terms, set-asides, or funding details beyond the existing RFQ parameters. The questions demonstrate the vendor's due diligence in understanding the precise printing requirements, particularly around paper weight, page count, and USPS mailing regulations. The response from Clackamas County provides precise, direct answers to help potential vendors accurately prepare their quotes for the magazine printing project.

Magazine Printing
RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS
April 15, 2025
Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation. The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the RFQ as published.
1. While researching the availability of the 50# FSC paper that is called out, it occurred to me that I can’t find anywhere on the RFQ that says if this will cover the May 2025 run or if the contract would commence for the 2026 mailing.
Answer: This contract will cover the Spring 2025 run.
2. This paper is manufactured every two weeks. If the RFQ covers next month, when would the artwork be ready and when would the job need to be in the mail?
Answer: The artwork would be ready on June 11th with a preferred mail date of June 25th.
3. Did you ever do 40 pages on the 50# paper, and if so, was it under the 4 ounce per copy weight that makes the USPS happy?
Answer: We have only done a 32 page max printing.
