About this file
This document is a response to clarifying questions submitted by interested firms for RFQ 2024-18, a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) project for Clackamas County, Oregon. The purpose of the RFQ is to purchase expert services to conduct a comprehensive functional analysis, inventory critical technology systems, and develop a prioritized disaster recovery and COOP for Clackamas County's technology infrastructure. The RFQ includes 22 departments, but the specific number of applications, data centers, and overall infrastructure is not provided. However, it is noted that Clackamas County has two data centers, primarily on-premises production workloads, and roughly 400 VMs and several hundred TB of storage, with the criticality of the infrastructure to be determined by the project.
The document provides details on the current technology environment, including the use of VMware as the hypervisor and Veeam as the backup solution. It also mentions a cloud-based data center disaster recovery project that this COOP project is intended to inform. No additional information is provided regarding pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or contract duration.

REQUEST FOR QUOTES #2024-18
Clackamas County Technology Services COOP Development Project
RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS
March 21, 2024
Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation. The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the RFQ as published.
1. The RFQ mentioned 22 Departments included in the Assessment but they don’t provide any data regarding # of Applications, # of Data Centers, or Infrastructure.
Answer:
# of Department apps: We don’t have an accurate count of all apps in use by each department. There will of course be many common apps like email and timekeeping. For department specific apps, it’d be safe to assume each department is going to have between 1 – 5 “critical apps”.
Datacenters: We have two datacenters but both are on the same campus in adjacent buildings. We are working on a cloud based datacenter DR project and the part of intent of this consultation is to inform the implementation and execution of the DR solution.
Infrastructure: We are primarily an on prem datacenter for production workloads with limited cloud presence (mainly M365 and SaaS). VMware is our hypervisor and Veeam is our backup solution. We have roughly 400 ish VMs and several hundred TB of storage. How much of that is considered “critical” will be determined by this project. Other details of our datacenter layout and related infrastructure questions can wait for an in person meeting.
