About this file
This document is a Response to Clarifying Questions issued by Clackamas County Department of Finance and Procurement & Contracting Services for RFQ #2024-119 for Catch Basin Clean and Upkeep, dated January 2, 2025. The clarifications address technical specifications regarding the maintenance and cleaning of catch basins in the county's storm water drainage system.
The document provides two key clarifications: 1) The Contech filters use plastic cartridges that hold media which must be periodically replaced, with the awarded vendor responsible for disposing of used media that absorbs oils and contaminants, and replacement of damaged cartridges as needed; 2) The water quality manholes do not require replacement - only the tanks beneath the covers need to be pumped out and cleaned. The document is presented on Clackamas County letterhead with the Department of Finance and Procurement & Contracting Services information, located at 2051 Kaen Road, Oregon City, OR 97045.

REQUEST FOR QUOTES #2024-119
Catch Basin Clean and Upkeep
RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS
January 2, 2025
Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation. The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the RFQ as published.
1. Regarding the price sheet for the Contech filters, can you specify what type of filters are needed if they will need to be replaced?
Answer: The filter is a plastic cartridge that holds media. You re-use the cartridge and remove the old media and add new media. The media absorbs the oils and contaminants then gets disposed of. Disposal is the responsibility of awarded vendor. If the plastic cartridge is bad, it will need to be replaced on an as needed basis.
2. Can you specify more details on the water quality manhole? – Does the manhole get replaced or just inspected?
Answer: The manhole does not get replaced. The tank below the cover gets pumped out and cleaned.
