The above numbered solicitation is amended as set forth below. The hour and date specified for receipt of offers [ X ] remains unchanged. Proposals due on 4/1/2022 by 5:00 P.M. MST [ ] is extended to
FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AMENDMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS
TO OFFERORS MAY RESULT IN REJECTION OF YOUR OFFEROR. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED
HEREIN, ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SOLICITATION DOCUMENT REMAIN
UNCHANGED AND IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
Description:
The purpose of this amendment is to answer technical questions. Answers are below in Blue text.
1. Pump Cart, are we to provide any electrical support for this, there is an electrical drawing showing a control box & components, do you have a vendor that will provided & assemble these components and also wire the line voltage & control? It would seem that a manufacturer or control shop may have to do this to provide an actual UL Listed assembly of this cart?
Answer: Panel shall be manufactured by a UL508A listed panel shop.
2. Are we to provide heat trace and or just the controller, we would prefer not to for this project with it being a specialty item; if vendor supplies do we have to assist with any install or connections, not quite sure how the tubing connects to the controller the tubing comes pre-heat traced; let us know what you find out, otherwise we will just plan on a new circuit & single point connection to the heat trace controller?
Answer: Contractor shall provide heat trace and controllers. See drawing notes.
3. It looks like equipment vendor should be providing (2) PLC control cabinets with the chemical storage units will they or Setpoint install these and handle all the control wiring to them, the drawings seem to indicate these should be stand alone controls but then integrate into the BAS?
mailto:Alex.Leishman@nrel.gov
Do we just need to provide the 120V power to these (2) PLC control cabinets, not sure that we really understand the P&ID drawings?
Answer: The contractor shall provide only one PLC. As stated in the specification and drawings the PCS shall be independent of the existing Setpoint BAS system. Contractor shall provide PCS, PLC installed within a control panel, control panel design, control panel assembly, and programing of the PLC. There will be handshake connection points between the PLC and NREL’s BAS that shall be integrated by SetPoint.
4. On quite a few of the P&ID drawings there are notes saying electrical contractor is to provide analog signal splitter and there is not part #, but then on different drawings they do provide a part # for this; we are not sure what this is, is there more than one of them? It would seem that this would be more of Setpoint’s scope to provide & install this signal splitter, can you confirm if they will have this in their scope?
Answer: Contractor is to provide a signal splitter for all pH probes as required by the keynotes with the drawings set. Setpoint does not have scope for this project. The contractor shall provide a complete and functioning Process Control System. *Link below provides the datasheet for the signal splitter. SetPoint is required to assist in integration of handshake between PLC and the
BAS.
5. I don’t see any electrical scope for the chemical tanks on Level 1 where we started the walk, do you know if there is any electrical associated to these, I think it may all be controls that tie into the (2) PLC control cabinets on Level 2?
Answer: The pH probes installed in the waste neutralization system, the tanks on the first level, will be monitored by the new process control system. Contractor shall make the required connections see D-1470
