About this file

This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) notes document prepared by the City of Detroit's Building, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department (BSEED) for emergency residential demolition services at 2733 Springwells in Michigan. The project involves the demolition of a one-story framed single-family dwelling located at the rear of the lot (2731), which is adjacent to an occupied two-story dwelling at the front of the property (2733) and occupied dwellings on both sides. The structure is severely deteriorated with a completely collapsed roof, all exterior walls collapsed or collapsing, structural deficiency throughout, water intrusion in the basement, and is deemed beyond repair and subject to total collapse. The property is vacant, open to trespass and elements, with unmaintained yard space and overgrowth. The project has been recommended for emergency demolition due to fire occurrence concerns, and emergency timelines must be met regardless of whether Frost Laws are in effect.

The awarded vendor must source backfill material from a Category 2 source approved on the City of Detroit Backfill platform, with vendors required to reference the current list of approved sources maintained by the city. No specific pricing terms, bid due dates, site visit schedules, bidders' meetings, award dates, contract terms, set-asides, or funding amounts are provided in this RFP notes document, as this appears to be preliminary guidance documentation prepared for inclusion in the formal RFP.
