About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to RFP-26-013-KY for Pyrotechnic Shows issued by the City of Altamonte Springs, Florida on October 14, 2025. The addendum clarifies specifications for pyrotechnic shell requirements and project timeline procedures. The City requests a minimum of 12,500 shots composed of shells sized 1-2.0 cakes, with specific shell count distribution: 2,838 shells measuring 0.5-1.25 inches, 300 shells measuring 2 inches, and 144 shells measuring 2.5 inches. The original solicitation contained an error regarding 12,000 low-level cakes that has been corrected. The City will provide contractors with a preferred song list no later than 60 days before the contractor's 90-day draft deadline for show design and soundtrack development.
The addendum establishes a structured review timeline for show design submissions. The City will deliver edits, comments, or approval within 10 business days of receiving draft submittal at the 60-day mark. The draft review at this stage focuses on identifying the high, low, and unique aesthetics of the performance, such as determining whether the show will include smiley faces, hearts, starbursts, and other design elements. Final show design and finalized soundtrack may be submitted together following the City's review of the rough draft. All respondents must acknowledge this addendum and review both the original solicitation and any additional addenda; failure to acknowledge may result in a submittal being deemed non-responsive.

Be advised of the following changes, additions, deletions, information, and/or clarifications to the subject solicitation. Only written questions answered in writing by formal Addendum will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Questions received after the due date for questions will not be given any consideration. Respondents are reminded to review the original solicitation and all issued addenda, if applicable. Respondents must acknowledge all issued addenda, if any. Failure to acknowledge may result in the Respondent’s submittal being deemed non-responsive.
Except as expressly modified herein, all other terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged.
Q1: Is the City wanting 12,500 cakes or 12,500 Shots?
A1: We are requesting a minimum of 12,500 shots from size 1 - 2.0 cakes.
Please refer to Attachment A: Minimum Specifications for Shell Count.
Q2: Is the 12,000 Low Level Cakes an error?
A2: Yes, that is an error. Please refer to Attachment A: Minimum Specifications for Shell Count.
The total shell count should consist of a minimum of:
• (2,838) 0.5 - 1.25” shells
• (300) 2” shells
• (144) 2.5” shells
Q3: What is the timeline prior to the 90-day deadline that the City shall provide the preferred list of songs to contractor?
A3: The City will provide the preferred song list no later than 60 days before the Contractor’s 90-day draft deadline.
Q4: How long is the City allowed to review the first draft prior to sending finalized edit request back to contractor?
A4: The City will provide edits, comments or approval within 10 business days of receiving the draft submittal.
Q5: Can we move final show design to delivery with finalized soundtrack?
A5: The City has requested a draft of the show design to identify the high, low or unique aesthetics of the performance. While final production is not expected at this stage, the City would like to review the rough draft at the 60-day mark to provide feedback on the overall presentation before finalization. For instance, understanding if the show will include smiley faces, hearts, starburst, etc. This is not intended to limit the Contractor’s creativity; the City seeks to understand the direction the show is headed in. Final show design can be submitted with the final soundtrack.
