About this file

This is a Measurement and Payment appendix for RFP 1168 issued by a Connecticut state or local government entity for snow and landscape services. The RFP specifies five primary work items: removal of existing sidewalks and installation of new six-inch-thick concrete sidewalks on existing gravel bases; turf establishment for disturbed areas; bituminous driveway patches three inches thick; removal of existing sidewalks and installation of new six-inch-thick concrete handicap ramps on existing gravel bases; and provision and installation of composite detectable warning plates for handicap ramps. Payment for sidewalk and handicap ramp installation is based on actual square footage completed in place, while turf establishment payment is calculated by linear feet of sidewalk replaced measured along the centerline. Bituminous driveway patching is paid per square foot, and detectable warning plates are paid per square foot installed.

All work items require comprehensive labor, materials, equipment, and associated services including site preparation, excavation to subgrade depths of zero to two feet, compaction of fill materials, fine grading, formation of proper bases, concrete finishing, restoration, erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and disposal of materials in accordance with contract specifications and engineer direction. Turf establishment includes placement of four-inch-thick loam layers, preparation of seed beds, fertilizing, seeding, and mulching. Bituminous driveway patches require twelve inches of compacted processed gravel base and three inches of compacted class 2 bituminous concrete surface. All work shall comply with first-class construction practices and contract specifications as directed by the engineer.
