About this file

This Request for Information (RFI) seeks market research for a commercially available maintenance tool kit for Siemens computed tomography (CT) machines to be used by Army biomedical technicians. The RFI is issued by Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, Soldier Medical Devices (SMD) in Frederick, Maryland, with responses due by 1000 AM EST on 28 July 2025. Vendors must submit electronic white papers in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format, including a cover page and completed company and product information attachment.

The RFI outlines detailed essential characteristics for the CT tool kit, including FDA regulatory compliance, tube size compatibility (microhematocrit, small 2-5 mL, and large 12-15 mL tubes), tube capacity (minimum six samples simultaneously), specific power requirements, and transportation case specifications. Key requirements include a fixed-angle or swinging-head design, relative centrifugal force range of 650-10,500 g, various controls and features, Trade Agreements Act compliance, and provision of user/operator manuals. Siemens' known government distributor is Parts Source, and the government emphasizes this is a market research effort only, not a solicitation for proposals.
