About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to a federal contract opportunity for the Montgomery Meadow Fuels Reduction project managed by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service.

The key details are:

  • The solicitation calls for using a rubber tire excavator, which is an Archaeologist requirement, not a typo.
  • Existing stumps over 12 inches high need to be lowered.
  • The period of performance may be extended from 7 to 14 calendar days if needed.
  • The solicitation requires sub-meter GPS accuracy and accepts the use of Avenza, even though it may not be the most accurate option.
  • The overall project entails hand felling and machine/hand piling of standing dead and down conifers outside of Montgomery Meadows for the Stanislaus National Forest, as detailed in the attached Request for Quote.

3) Can the period of performance be extended to 14 calendar days instead of 7? This can be extended if needed.
