About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a pre-bid conference held on December 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for BidBuy B-50221, an elevator repair and maintenance services contract for the Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) and Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI). The contract covers elevator maintenance and inspection services across multiple facilities. ISD has a total of 11 elevators included in the scope of work, while ISVI has 7 elevators. Inspections are included as part of the contract services. The original solicitation contained incorrect elevator counts, which have been corrected in both BidBuy and the final contract documents.
Major repairs are excluded from the bid pricing requirements, allowing vendors to focus pricing on routine maintenance and inspection services only. The non-functioning elevator at ISD Cullom Hall is not included in this contract. These clarifications were issued during the pre-bid conference to address vendor questions and ensure accurate understanding of the contract scope and requirements before final bid submissions.
