About this file

This document contains the questions and answers from the pre-bid conference for the TDF PIF Gym Floor Resurfacing IFB (Invitation for Bids) issued by the state of Illinois. The IFB is seeking bids for the removal and disposal of approximately 12,000 sq ft of existing gym carpet flooring and the installation of new Gerflor Taraflex Sport M Plus flooring or equivalent. The pre-bid conference allowed vendors to ask questions about the project, including details on the existing flooring, site access, power sources, timeline, and permissible alternates. The IFB states that all work must be completed by June 30, 2023, and that only SBSA (Small Business Set-Aside) vendors may submit bids. The facility has stated a preference for a grey wall base and that no trim should be included in the bids.

Regarding pricing, the IFB indicates that alternate flooring products may be bid, but they must meet the same safety rating as the specified Gerflor flooring. Vendors were also informed that no background checks will be required for their employees, and that a forklift will be available to assist with removing and disposing of the existing carpet.
