IFB Section 51, Price Adjustments
If model year 2026 incentives for Government fleet and retail were to be dramatically reduced, meaning the contract price could not be sustained, could the dealer withdraw or make the model unavailable? How does a dealer protect themselves from an OEM’s pricing and incentive fluctuations?
As stated in answer to question 5-1, in the event of a major vehicle change, or unusual market circumstances, a price increase of more than 3 percent may be considered.
Contractor must price protect the contracted price for the duration between the price increase request and the time the increase is processed. If the Contractor is unable to honor the price protection, the Contractor’s vehicle will be unavailable for ordering until the price increases have been evaluated and approved.
Please note, the Contractor’s profit margin shall remain unchanged through the contract term including any extension periods.
