About this file

This is a Question and Answer Sheet document related to a 4-Wheel Loader Bid with Trade-In solicitation, dated February 25, 2015, for equipment identified as DQ1*860. The document addresses clarifications requested by bidders regarding specifications for a 544k loader. Three primary questions were posed by potential bidders concerning bucket attachment type, hydraulic ride control inclusion, and backup camera/alarm safety equipment. The procurement requires submission of a pin-on bucket design rather than a coupler attachment.

Ride control functionality was clarified to be mandatory and included as part of the base bid rather than as an optional line item, with this specification change reflected in version two (v.2) of the bid solicitation document and highlighted in pink for easy identification. Backup camera and alarm equipment was determined to be unnecessary for this procurement due to the adequate visibility characteristics of the 544k loader model and the remote nature of the work sites, resulting in cost savings for the agency by excluding these safety features from the required specifications.

DQ1*860 4-Wheel Loader Bid with Trade-In:

Questions and Answers

1) Question: Would you like me to quote a coupler or a pin on bucket?

a. Answer: Pin on Bucket

2) Question: Under hydraulics, the quote calls for ride control, but under ride control it is listed as optional. How would you like me to handle? Ride control as a separate line item?

a. Answer: We want ride control. Ride control should be part of the base bid

i. This has been updated on the bid solicitation specification chart. The change has been highlighted in Pink in version two (v.2) of the bid solicitation document.

3) Question: We see a lot of government agencies adding the back-up camera and alarm for safety, would you like me to quote as a separate item?

a. Answer: Due to remote locations of work sites and the size/design of the 544k which has good view while backing up, we did not want the extra cost of a back-up camera/alarm.
