About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 2) for a federal trash removal solicitation. It addresses contractor inquiries regarding dumpster specifications and incumbent contractor information for non-hazardous waste removal services at Washington National Cemetery. A contractor inquired whether a 15-yard dumpster on a more frequent schedule could replace the specified 40-yard roll-off dumpster (scheduled for approximately 6 pickups per year) to potentially reduce costs and minimize traffic at the cemetery. The government responded affirmatively, indicating that a smaller dumpster is acceptable provided it accommodates the primary requirement: disposal of headstones. The government also clarified that there is no current incumbent contractor, as the cemetery currently procures waste removal services on a monthly basis through purchase card transactions.

Contractor Question and Answers

1. There is a price request for a 40 yard roll off dumped around 6 x per year. Is the reason to minimize traffic in and out of the cemetery to help maintain dignity decorum? I Just wanted to know if an option of doing a 15-yard dumped on a more frequent schedule would be an option if it helps save money?

Answer: The main reason the cemetery gets the 40-yard dumpster is to put headstones in there. There is no objection to the smaller one as long as the cemetery can put the headstones in it.

2. Could you please advise who the current incumbent contractor is for this requirement?

Answer: There is no current incumbent. There is currently no contract in place. There is monthly pick-up via purchase card.
