Technical Amendment To Solicitation QMAE-CY-110303-N
The following changes apply to:
Sin 377A Bus-Transit-Heavy Duty- Low Floor-40 ft.-39 Passenger-Diesel Sin 377B Bus-Transit-Heavy Duty- Low Floor-40 ft.-39 Passenger-CNG Sin 377C Bus-Transit-Heavy Duty- Low Floor-40 ft.-39 Passenger-Diesel Electric Hybrid
The Government relaxed the requirement in Section 3.7.3 Air Reservoirs of the transit bus Purchase Descriptions (same clause in all three items 377A, 377B, 377C) that the wet tank be furnished with an automatic, heated drain. This change was erroneously omitted in the last solicitation amendment. All air tanks may be furnished with manual drains.
The clause 3.7.3 is corrected to read:
3.7.3 Air Reservoirs
All air reservoirs shall meet the requirements of FMVSS Standard 121 and SAE Standard J10. All air reservoirs shall be equipped with manual drain valves, a pressure relief apparatus equipped with check valves, and pressure protection valves to ensure at least partial operation in the event of a line failure. The manual drain valves shall be located such that they may be drained from the ground at the side of the bus. Major structural members shall be provided to protect these valves from road hazards. Reservoirs shall be sloped toward the drain valve to assure that condensate is eliminated by the valve. All air reservoirs and tanks shall have a non-corrosive treatment applied to them prior to installation on the bus vehicle (subject to Government review and approval).
