About this file

This is a Questions & Answers document for contract B-47475 involving the Illinois Department of Transportation (IL DOT). The document addresses contractor inquiries regarding Road Weather Information System (RWIS) services, traffic control support, equipment requirements including bucket trucks and video cameras, and database system capabilities for managing installed RPU video cameras with agency control features for traffic safety and disaster management needs. The bid opening has been extended to August 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM to provide bidders adequate response time following the release of these answers.

IL DOT has indicated that traffic control and bucket truck support will be provided when possible but cannot be guaranteed for preventive maintenance or repair visits. Each RWIS location has existing modem communications and individual power service connections, with equipment metadata provided in a separate spreadsheet attachment to assist bidders in pricing calculations. The agency has clarified that still camera images rather than real-time video streaming will suffice for the database system requirements, and direct camera access via IP address would be acceptable for agency control purposes.
