About this file
This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) addendum for Project QR-00038, a roadside signage project for Horry County Government in South Carolina. The document specifically addresses a vendor inquiry about submitting an approved equal to the specified Daktronics LED Board. The county has provided a form for future substitution requests that can be submitted via email listed in the solicitation.
The underlying project involves upgrading roadside signage at the James R. Frazier Community Center in Bucksport, SC. The scope includes removing existing signage, installing new metal lettering, mounting county seals, and implementing a message display system with wireless access controls and night-time dimming capabilities. Key requirements include using a Daktronics Galaxy Series Message Display or an approved equivalent, providing all necessary electrical conduit and wiring, ensuring proper installation by a licensed electrician, and offering a minimum one-year warranty on materials and workmanship. The non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was scheduled for November 7th, 2024, at the community center location.
