About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) document for the City of Lafayette's Starkey Building Renovation project (RFP-24-08-ACRD), featuring three key clarifications for potential design-build contractors. The Q&A addresses specific technical inquiries related to the renovation project, dated 07/18/2024, focusing on utility service capabilities, commissioning requirements, and energy modeling expectations.

The document provides critical guidance for bidders, specifically noting that the design-build team must independently verify existing building utility service sizes and determine if upgrades are necessary. The project does not require third-party commissioning, and MEP sub-contractors should include standard startup services in their bid packages. Additionally, the city has confirmed that energy modeling will not be required for this renovation, which involves converting a 1,200 square foot, 1970s-era single-story structure into a community hub located at 309 S Public Rd in Lafayette, Colorado.
