About this file
The document is a comprehensive inventory list of the City of St. Petersburg's Public Art Collection, detailing 89 art pieces spanning indoor and outdoor installations created between 1945 and 2021. The collection includes diverse artistic mediums such as oil paintings, sculptures, glass works, ceramic pieces, textile art, and mixed media installations by numerous local and regional artists. Each entry includes critical metadata: artwork name, artist, medium, creation date, and a standardized label type (indoor 3x4 or 6x9, outdoor 6x9).
The list appears to be supporting documentation for a municipal contract opportunity to produce labels/signage for these art pieces, which will include the City of St. Petersburg's logo, artwork details, and potentially a QR code linking to an online Public Art Archive. The collection represents a significant cultural asset for the city, with works ranging from traditional paintings by artists like Christopher Still to contemporary sculptures by Mark Aeling and Janet Echelman. The diversity of the collection reflects St. Petersburg's commitment to public art, spanning multiple decades and artistic styles, with pieces located both indoors and outdoors throughout municipal facilities and public spaces.
