Prevailing Wage Rates - Maintenance Project
This is a prevailing wage requirements document issued by the County of Sacramento, California, establishing labor compliance standards for public works maintenance projects. The document outlines mandatory prevailing wage payment requirements for contractors and subcontractors performing maintenance work on County projects. All contractors and subcontractors must register with the California Department of Industrial Relations prior to bid submission or contract award, with limited exceptions for bid purposes only. The prevailing wage rates are determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations and are available at the County's Labor Compliance Program office located at 9700 Goethe Road, Suite D, Sacramento, California 95827, or online at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/PWD.
Pursuant to California Labor Code Section 1771.5, prevailing wage requirements do not apply to maintenance projects valued at fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) or less. For projects exceeding this threshold, contractors must pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as established by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. The County of Sacramento received final approval for its Labor Compliance Program from the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations effective March 15, 1994. The document notes that contractors may, at their own expense, substitute securities for withheld funds to ensure performance under the contract. Contractors should direct all questions regarding prevailing wage requirements and the Labor Compliance Program to the Labor Compliance Section at (916) 875-2711.
