About this file
This document is the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Zero Tolerance Policy that requires volunteers and contractors to be advised of the agency's zero tolerance policy for sexual misconduct and how to report violations. The policy defines various forms of sexual misconduct and states that any staff, contractor, or volunteer who engages in, fails to report, or condones such acts will be subject to disciplinary action and possible criminal prosecution. The policy provides several reporting options, including a PREA hotline, email, mail, and the agency website.
The related state and local contract opportunity is for the NDOC to procure comprehensive staffing analysis services under RFP 44DOC-S2838. The selected contractor will be responsible for reviewing existing staffing levels, recommending optimal staffing based on industry best practices, developing standardized staffing patterns, and conducting a study to prioritize security posts. The contract term is expected to be one year, with a publicly available budgeted amount of $395,000. Proposals must be submitted by July 25, 2024, and the State intends to award one contract based on factors such as competence, experience, and cost. The State will apply a 5% preference for Nevada-based businesses and an inverse preference for vendors from states that apply an in-state preference not afforded to Nevada vendors.
