About this file
This is a clarification document from PNCi Construction, Inc., the project manager for a park improvement project involving the demolition and replacement of shade shelters and site infrastructure. The project requires the demolition of nine existing canopy/table combinations at sites 2, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, and 21, with the Park responsible for replacing the tables. All 31 site pads will be regraded to accommodate installation of new shade shelters, fire rings, and concrete pads. Three existing ADA-compliant shelters will remain in place and not be demolished. Bid item #3 includes concrete footers for the use pads, while bid item #5 covers 4,635 square feet of 4-inch concrete slab placement as a separate pay item. All use pads are concrete, not gravel, regardless of any conflicting notes in project documents.
No additional information regarding pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, contract terms, or renewal options is provided in this clarification document. The document serves solely to address specific questions raised by bidders and to provide definitive direction on project scope and material specifications from the project manager.

Steve, A few questions:
1. Nine(9 each) canopy/table combinations get demolished.
0. Tables as well? Yes
0. Who replaces tables? The Park
1. Is bid item #5 independent of bid item #3. In other words, the 4635sf of 4” concrete is in addition to the concrete use pads? Pay item #3 includes concrete footers.
Pay item #5 includes the 4 “concrete slab placement.
1. Sheet 3, Note 6 says “where use pad is to be gravel pour full depth piers”… Was under the impression all 31 new shelters had concrete use pads. Please clarify. Disregard note as it refers to a different condition, use pad is concrete not gravel.
1. Point of clarification – all 31 existing shelters get demolished? The three handicap shelters are new and will remain.
