About this file

This is a set of architectural and engineering plans from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) for re-roofing 180 housing units at Facilities A and B at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, California. The scope of work includes the removal of existing roofing materials and installation of new roofing materials on all 180 units. The plans consist of detailed roof plans, demolition plans, partial roof plans, and construction details prepared by CDCR's Design and Environmental Services and Standards Branch. The project must comply with 2013 California Building Codes and standards including Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Energy, and Fire codes as well as NFPA standards and ADA requirements.

The drawings include site plans, institutional plans, roof plans showing building layouts and dimensions totaling approximately 30,600 square feet of roof area, along with detailed construction specifications and notes. The plans show Type IB construction for I-3 occupancy buildings and include comprehensive demolition and installation details for the roofing system components. The plans are stamped for review by the California State Fire Marshal and CDCR Access Compliance Review, indicating this is an officially approved set of construction documents for a state correctional facility project.
