About this file

This document is an AFMC Form 158 Packaging Requirements specification for federal contract FD20302501644-00, Version 1, that establishes packaging and marking standards for three line items.

The document mandates compliance with MIL-STD-129 Revision R and MIL-STD-2073-1 Revision E for all packaging and military marking requirements. A critical requirement addresses wood packaging material (WPM) restrictions implemented by the United Nations to prevent invasive species such as the pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes, with certification/marking required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC). Reference documentation includes the latest revision of International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). Three line items are specified: 1680OAH2500A4FG (no packaging data required under PACRN AAA), 1680006059700FG (MIL-STD-2073-1/SPI MIL B F003041771, Revision A, dated 05 AUG 2024), and 1680DTH250176FG (no packaging data required under PACRN AAC). Shipping containers must meet MIL-STD-129 marking criteria plus any additional requirements for unit serial numbers, OEM names, or OEM model numbers as specified. The specification was prepared by Sean R. Cox, Packaging Specialist with the 406 SCMS/GULAA organization on 25 AUG 2025.
