About this file
This document contains payment and performance bond forms for the City of Alpharetta, Georgia, required for the FY27 Sidewalk Repair and Replacement project. The project involves furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment for demolition and disposal of existing concrete sidewalks, construction of new concrete sidewalks and handicap ramps, and related repair and reconstruction work along Westside Parkway, Kimball Bridge Road, and Clubhouse Drive. The bond forms establish the contractual obligations and surety requirements that contractors must fulfill to secure the project award.
The performance bond and labor and material payment bond are each set at 100% of the contract price and require contractors to obtain surety from companies appearing on the U.S. Treasury Department's current list (Circular 570, as amended) and authorized to conduct business in Georgia. The performance bond obligates the contractor and surety to complete the contract or allow the City to complete the work and recover all reasonable costs incurred. The labor and material payment bond protects all claimants furnishing labor, services, or materials by requiring the surety to satisfy claims promptly if the contractor fails to do so. Both bonds automatically amend upon contract modifications and extend protection to the City beyond statutory minimums where applicable. No action can be maintained on either bond more than one year after project completion or after the last labor or materials were provided, respectively. Surety contact information must be provided on the executed bonds.
