j. Manages and controls FAA supply support activities conducted with other Government entities and foreign Governments.

k. Develops and recommends supply chain management procedures and standards for the FAA.

1.2 Product Division

The Navigation/Landing/Weather Product Division (AML-7000) provides life-cycle navigational aids (navaids), landing, weather, and lighting systems end-to-end logistics support, customer service, and accomplishes special navaid, landing, weather, and lighting projects in support of the NAS, other Government agencies, and foreign governments.

a. Provides acquisition planning for new systems and acquisition services for existing systems.

b. Provides engineering services and customer assistance.

c. Provides inventory management services that include maintaining proper stock levels, processing purchase requisitions, contract management, and personalized customer assistance, in addition to oversight of packaging, handling, shipping and transportation requirements.

d. Provides provisioning services for system acquisition and support including spares planning, end-of-life planning, and obsolescence solutions.

e. Provides complete depot-level support to include fabrication, diagnostic testing, and repair for electrical, mechanical, and electronic system components.

f. Provides special project support for systems through cannibalization and emergency support to customers.

g. Ensures all products and services are delivered in accordance with the FAALC quality system.

1.3 Acquisition Background

This acquisition is needed to support runway approach lighting systems. TYPE I, PAR-56, 500W incandescent aviation service lamps will be purchased. These incandescent lamps are normally installed in the approach areas to runways extending from the landing threshold outward to help ensure the safe landing of aircraft, especially at night and under poor weather conditions. This statement of work (SOW) describes Contractor requirements for the acquisition of these lamps. SOW acronyms are defined in Appendix A.

The Type I, PAR-56 500W incandescent lamp (NSN 6240-01-217-0894) are used in the following runway approach lighting systems:
