About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a battery and capacitor replacement project at NEC. The requirement involves replacing 40 existing batteries (PWHR12200 sized) and associated capacitors, with work to be performed at two buildings (Bldg. 1-1548 and Bldg. C-6321). The project includes full labor for removal of old equipment and installation of new components, with work permitted between 07:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and weekend work authorized if coordinated.
Key logistical details include delivery via standard freight shipping, with forklift support available at one building and lift gate/pallet jack options at another. Floor protection is mandatory, and all personnel will be escorted by NEC. The project requires installation and system activation, not just supply and disposal. NEC will schedule authorized service interruption windows to minimize impacts to downstream critical services, and the existing battery monitoring system uses a local display on the UPS system. The contractor must coordinate delivery with Logistics Personnel or Voice Branch and be prepared to work within the specified access and operational constraints.

Questions:
1. Will the site be able to accept deliveries via standard freight shipping with a 53' trailer, or will special services (such as a lift gate or smaller truck) be required?
We can receive about anything at our warehouse. If unloaded at the warehouse the Contractor would be responsible to transport to the job site.
2. What times will technicians be permitted to perform the battery and capacitor replacement?
07:00 AM to 5:00 PM
3. Looking at the requirement, it is requesting 39 EA of the PWHR12200 sized batteries. 39 is a strange number, usually strings of batteries would be 40 batteries. Is there a reason it is only 39 EA?
*Earlier today, NEC confirmed a total of 40 existing batteries that require being replaced.
4. Please confirm the capacitor and associated parts requirement of qty 39, typically capacitors come as a set/kit and quantity would be 1 for all caps replacement on a unit. QTY is 40
