About this file

This file contains detailed photographs documenting three industrial boilers at Building 40 of the Palo Alto Healthcare Facility. The images show extensive documentation of industrial-grade boilers manufactured by Zeeco Inc., including their control systems, piping configurations, pressure gauges, ignition systems, and Building Management System (BMS) control panels.

The boilers are painted in a mint green color with distinctive orange burner assemblies, featuring extensive instrumentation including multiple pressure gauges, automated control valves, yellow gas supply lines, and braided steel flexible connectors. Each boiler is equipped with an Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 1000 control interface and dedicated BMS panel with manual controls for power, burner trip, and alarm functions. The documentation includes close-up shots of manufacturer plates, ignition junction boxes (labeled IGN-1, IGN-2, IGN-3), and the complete piping and control systems for each of the three identical boiler units. These photos appear to be related to a VA contract opportunity for retrofitting these boilers to meet updated safety standards and address deficiencies identified in a July 2023 Boiler Efficiency Institute report.
