About this file

This is a test report issued by Intertek Building & Construction (an accredited testing laboratory) documenting forced-entry-resistance testing of Clear Armor fixed window assemblies following simulated active shooter attack scenarios, conducted in accordance with ASTM F3561-25 standards. The testing was performed for Clear Armor, located in Grayslake, Illinois, on three specimens of 48.5-inch by 66.5-inch fixed window assemblies. The test specimens featured a glazing layup consisting of 15 mil laminate, 1/4-inch glass, PVB glue, 1/4-inch glass, and 31 mil laminate. Testing occurred on March 4, 2026, at the Intertek facility in York, Pennsylvania, with the report issued on March 24, 2026.

The testing protocol consisted of two phases: ballistics resistance and forced-entry resistance. The ballistics phase involved firing 5.56mm NATO ammunition (55 grain, copper jacket lead core) at ten designated locations on each specimen from 25 feet away, resulting in complete penetration on all shots across all three specimens with velocities ranging from 3,362 to 3,467 feet per second. The forced-entry phase employed an impact ram with incremental drop heights from 0.50 feet to 4.00 feet, delivering two impacts per height level until failure occurred. The lowest forced-entry rating achieved across the three-specimen set was Level 6, with Specimen 1 failing at Level 7 (3.50 feet), Specimen 2 failing at Level 8 (4.00 feet), and Specimen 3 passing Level 8 and failing at Level 9 (failure did not occur within testing parameters). All test observations and results are applicable only to the tested samples.

SECTION 8

TEST PROCEDURE

Glass Weakening:

The sample was rigidly mounted for ballistics resistance testing. The muzzle of the test firearm was set at 25 feet from the sample at zero-degree (±3°) obliquity. Ballistic screens were set at 5 feet and at 20 feet from the muzzle of the firearm. Test ammunition was 5.56 mm NATO, 55 grain, copper jacket lead core, which conformed to ASTM F3561, Table 1 requirements. Shot locations were per Figure 4 of ASTM F3561 for glazing and panels.

Forced Entry:

Impacts were delivered to the product using an impact ram as specified in ASTM F3561, Section

6.6. The product was rigidly anchored to a supporting test frame, and the impacts were delivered to the specimen as per ASTM F3561, Section 16. Two impacts were delivered to the center of the specimen for each drop height beginning at a height of 6 in and increasing in increments of 6 in until failure occurred. The potential energy delivered at each drop height is detailed in the following table:
