About this file
This Material Ordering Data sheet specifies requirements for high-carbon cast-steel grit under SAE J1993 standard. The procurement is for 200 drums of G50 grade grit with a hardness range of 54 to 61 HRC, requiring new manufactured grit with no recycled material allowed. Packaging must use steel drums that are poly-lined and sealed, with pallets poly-covered.
The document details extensive sampling and testing requirements, including a specific sample schedule based on lot size, with rigorous hardness testing protocols. Ten particles from each sample will be tested, with three hardness readings per particle, and 90% of readings must fall within the specified range. If any sample fails, the entire order will be rejected. Additional requirements include marking containers per MIL-STD-129 and following DLA Procurement Note C20, with a specific note for PSNS (Puget Sound Naval Shipyard) indicating a 100% sample rate.
